On Friday, WSOP.com hosted its final Online Series events. Overall, the series offered one event per day and provided 31 gold bracelets to deserving players. In the end, over $26.8 million was awarded in prize money from the 31 events. Over 44,000 entries were seen during the series, which was opened to players from New Jersey and Nevada.
A Full Schedule:
During the WSOP Online Series in NJ and Nevada, players had access to a full schedule of events. The series kicked off with the No Limit Hold’em Kick-Off event and was followed by an 8-Handed Deepstack as well as additional hold’em events including Super Turbos and freezeouts.
Each day, there was something new to explore, from traditional hold’em and Omaha formats. Buy-ins started at $400 and went as high as $3,200. Three events of the series saw players earning $300K+ paydays.
In Event #14, Joe McKeehen went home with the largest prize of the series, earning $352,985.34 during the High Roller event. The second largest prize went to Nahrain Tamero, the winner of Event #31, the No Limit Hold’em Championship. This event paid out $310,832.83 for first place. Nick Guagenti earned just over $305,000 for his first-place finish in the No Limit Hold’em Deepstack 6-Handed event.
GGPoker WSOP Online Series Still Going Strong:
Just a few weeks after WSOP.com launched the Online Series, GGPoker got in on the action, offering the option for players from other countries to vie for a WSOP gold bracelet for the very first time.
The latter option will have more events, featuring 54 tournaments. Each will provide a gold bracelet to the winner. Poker players have through September to take part in GGPoker WSOP Online Series events.
