The World Series of Poker announced a short time ago that the flagship summer series would be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. This meant that the summer months would be short on quality poker gaming in Las Vegas. Now, the WSOP has announced that they have decided to create a World Series of Poker Online, an online poker festival taking place over two months. Players will be able to compete online in quality tournaments, with a total of 85 gold bracelets up for grabs!

The WSOP Online will be one of the largest online poker series ever, featuring massive prize money and media coverage for the online action. Players will have the ability to compete and win gold bracelets via the WSOP site as well as GGPoker.
The new series will begin on July 1 and will take place on the North American network with one bracelet event per day during the month of July. Players who are located in New Jersey and Nevada can take part.
By July 19, the WSOP Online bracelet events will start on the GGPoker Network. The international series will continue through September 6 and, according to the WSOP, will be the first time that players from outside the United States have been allowed to compete for an official bracelet in the online realm.
GGPoker will be providing its bracelet schedule on a rolling basis and will provide a nice selection of buy-ins and formats. At WSOP.com, the site will be celebrating the series with several incentives and special promotions. Satellites for bracelet events will start at just $1, which will make them affordable for everyone.
Ty Stewart, the WSOP Executive Director, commented on the new series by stating: “It wouldn’t be Summer without WSOP. While we are thrilled to be reopening our venues and optimistic about future offline events, we couldn’t be more excited about deepening our relationship with GGPoker and watching some history unfold online this summer.”
