PokerStars announced this week that it is now operational in the province of Ontario. The brand was approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission, with all service options up and running in the region. To celebrate the launch of the online poker room, PokerStars plans to launch the Ontario Platinum Series. From July 10-18, the site will feature several tournament options exclusive to the province, with CAD $1.5 million in total prize money up for grabs. It is also expected that the brand will offer an Ontario Championship of Online Poker (ONCOOP) later this year.
A new Sunday major event is also coming to the province, giving players even more great tournament action to look forward to on a weekly basis.
