As the Super High Roller Series Europe comes to a close, Phil Ivey was named the winner of the series points race. The poker pro was able to cash out in several events and claim a few titles to earn enough points to take a huge lead and win the race. In total, Ivey took home over $2.8 million, winning two tournaments and cashing out in five events.
Details of the Leaderboard Win
The Super High Roller Series Europe was hosted by SHRS and Triton Poker, offering players six events to play in at the Merit Crystal Cove Resort & Casino. Once the series was almost completed, it was determined that there was statistically no way that any player could catch Phil Ivey when it came to leaderboard points.
Ivey landed at the first position with his $2.8 million in cashouts plus 1,725 points. Daniel Dvoress finished in second place, earning six cash outs, $2,188,000 in prize money, and 1,155 in points. Third place went to Jason Koon who earned 1,139 points and $1.8 million in earnings.
The poker pro was able to win Event #3, a $75,000 Short Deck tournament, as well as Event #4, the $50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. He almost claimed a third title in Event #2, the $50,000 Short Deck tournament, but fell short in the runner-up position to Mikita Badziakouski.
By earning the leaderboard win, Ivey now takes home an extra $25,000 in cash and bragging rights!
PokerGO Tour Points
The 2022 Super High Roller Series Europe tournaments are events that count towards the PokerGO Tour. The preliminary events of the Triton Cyprus also count towards the leaderboard. Players that competed in the events earned points based on cashouts that count towards the PokerGO leaderboard challenge.
By the end of the 2022 PokerGO Tour season, the final 21 players will be able to take part in the 2022 PokerGO Tour Championship. The winner of the event will earn a $500,000 prize. Right now, the top player on the PokerGO leaderboard is Ali Imsirovic. He holds 1839 points while Phil Ivey is in second, with 1725 points.
Following somewhat further behind is Jake Schindler and Isaac Kempton. Schindler holds 1472 points while Kempton has 1375 points. It is unclear if Ivey will continue to play a full poker schedule and be able to maintain his point status and possibly even surpass Imsirovic to become the point leader. If he continues to compete in events, Ivey has a good chance in becoming the player to beat in the PokerGO Tour points board competition.
