After taking down the win during Event #3 of the Triton Poker Cyprus Special Edition High Roller action in Cyprus, Phil Ivey has done it again. He competed in Event #4, a $50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event, earning his second win and cashing out in all five of the scheduled events.
This time around, Ivey was able to win $640,000 at Merit Crystal Cove Resort and Casino. The tournament saw 32 players competing and a prize pool of $1.6 million was created. Ivey defeated Ali Imsirovic in heads-up play to earn the win.
Fighting for the Win
Ivey would have to stay on top of this game in order to win the event. He was third in chips as the final table began and then he ended up taking down Dylan Weisman in 5th to gain a few chips. However, his heads-up opponent had earned chips by taking out Eelis Parssinen and Joni Jouhkimainen, which gave him the chip lead going into the final round.
Ivey would start earning hands early, which helped him chip away at Imsirovic’s lead and then take over to have a 4-1 advantage. Imsirovic was not ready to give up yet and tried to come back, even doubling up late in the round, but it just wasn’t in the cards.
On the final poker hand, Imsirovic was all-in with K-Q-6-2 with a flop of Q-J-3. Ivey revealed A-A-8-4, claiming the hand as the remaining cards were no help to Imsirovic.

Details of the Series
The Triton Poker Cyprus Special Edition kicked off in early April, in collaboration with Super High Roller Bowl. The Merit Crystal Cove Resort & Casino played host to the series. A total of three events were on the table, 6-handed action, 8-handed options, and short deck.
Since the events were Super High Roller options, players had to buy-in for $50,000, $75,000, $100,000, or $125,000. The series saw a lot of action, with players traveling from all over the world to play in events in Cyprus.
For Ivey, he was the most successful. He cashed out in all five events and managed to earn two wins. That’s pretty incredible considering the action was back to back and the competition was fierce. It is also important to note that Ivey has slacked off on his live gameplay for the past few years, which make his performance even more impressive.
