Highlighting its responsible gambling credentials and Finnish iGaming operator Alands Penningautomatforening (PAF) has reportedly detailed a large comparable drop in the revenues it made last year from those who had lost at least €30,000 ($32,630).
According to a report from GamblingInsider.com, the Mariehamn-headquartered firm revealed that 2019 had seen it chalk up a decline of 67% year-on-year to €3.2 million ($3.4 million) in the amount of cash it had gained from such high-rolling customers as their share of its entire player base decreased by some 0.09% to stand at only 0.04%.

Owned by the government of Finland’s autonomous Aland Islands region, PAF is responsible for the online casino at PAF.com and it reportedly lowered its maximum loss limit to €25,000 ($27,191) in October before being awarded with the Corporate Responsibility Programme of the Year prize at February’s Global Gaming Awards London 2020 extravaganza.

Jan-Mikael Von Schantz (pictured), Chairman for PAF, reportedly told GamblingInsider.com that his firm had conversely experienced a rise of 10% year-on-year to €79 million ($85.9 million) in 2019 takings from those who had lost up to €8,000 ($8,701). He moreover purportedly detailed that the operator’s annual gross gaming revenues and profit had both increased by 4% to reach €102.8 million ($111.8 million) and €25.6 million ($27.8 million) respectively.

Coronavirus campaign:
For his part and Christer Fahlstedt, Chief Executive Officer for PAF, reportedly proclaimed that the online casino operator would now be handing over some €40 million ($43.5 million) in profits to help fund its local government’s fight against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
