PokerStars began its Turbo Series on February 21 with the action set to continue through March 8. The series features a huge schedule of 134 online poker events along with over $25 million in combined prize money. There is plenty for players to enjoy, with events ranging in buy-ins so that players of every bankroll can compete.
Details of the Series
The Turbo Series kicked off with Event #1, a No-Limit Hold’em Series Starter, with $100,000 in total prize money. The event had a low $55 buy-in and just over 3,400 players took part in the event. In the end, it was online player Gaul4200 who finished in first, taking home $24,472.31.
Next up was Event #2, the NLHE 8-Max, PKO Hyper event, featuring $100,000 in total prize money as well. This event had an even lower buy-in of $11. Over 12,000 players competed, which led to a total prize pool of $124,175. It was online player TheNizzleRat who won the tournament, taking home just over $11,000 for his efforts.
Every day, there are new events to take advantage of. PokerStars is offering several game variants, however, the majority of the action is traditional Texas Hold’em. One of the most anticipated events of the series is the Event #127, the Main Event.
This tournament has a buy-in of $1,050 and features a large $2 million prize pool. This event takes place towards the end of the series, on March 7. On the same day, players can take part in the Low Main Event, for just $55. This tournament has a much lower buy-in and a $1 million prize pool.
Qualifying for Events
With so many events at low buy-ins, it is relatively easy to afford to compete in several online poker events. For the larger buy-ins, there are qualifiers running at PokerStars to provide seats at much lower prices. There are qualifiers that start at just pennies, allowing you to try for a seat to big tournaments like the Main Event.
For the Main Event High, the site is offering The Fast Track and special Spin & Go’s with buy-ins of $4 and $22. This is much lower than the $1,050 buy-in for the tournament!
Continued Online Poker Action
PokerStars started 2021 off with a bang, already having hosted several major events alongside its regular services. Just a few weeks ago, the site provided players with access to the 50/50 Series, including the Main Event.
Special satellites were provided for this event, so players could buy-in for as little as $1.10 to compete for a seat. The phased approach allowed players to work their way up to a seat to the 50/50 Series Main Event.
