Newly-enlarged casino operator Caesars Entertainment Incorporated has just unveiled plans that are to see it spend approximately $325 million in order to renovate and expand its Harrah’s New Orleans property.
The Las Vegas-headquartered firm used an official Tuesday press release to declare that the scheme will involve the downtown New Orleans venue being transformed into ‘a new flagship resort’ by the end of 2024 ‘featuring the elegance and indulgence that has become [our] hallmark only steps from the famed French Quarter.’

Caesars Entertainment Incorporated recently completed its $17.3 billion merger with smaller compatriot Eldorado Resorts Incorporated and additionally detailed that the enlarged Louisiana property is to be rechristened as Caesars New Orleans and come complete with a new 340-room hotel located above the existing entry to its 115,000 sq ft casino. The operator explained that this extension will be complemented by ‘full exterior and interior architectural and design enhancements’ along with the premiere of ‘new culinary and hospitality offerings’ and ‘additional development of the unoccupied area on the second floor.’

Tom Reeg, Chief Executive Officer for Caesars Entertainment Incorporated, used the press release to pronounce that the coming project is expected to create 600 temporary construction jobs as well as 500 more permanent positions and ‘provide millions in tax revenues to New Orleans and Louisiana’ once completed.
