Online poker players in Ontario will welcome a new platform later this month as the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and GGPoker prepare to launch WSOP.ca on September 30. The new platform was originally supposed to launch in April but was delayed to this month. The site will function via GGPoker software and players who currently play in Ontario at GGPoker will move to the new WSOP site.
Ready to Go
Players will have access to WSOP.ca by the end of the month, with the site set to offer premium cash gaming and tournament options. The networks announced their partnership in March and said they would go live as soon as an operating agreement was signed with iGaming Ontario.
The two companies have decided to play poker pro Daniel Negreanu as the face of the platform, which makes sense because he is from Ontario. Negreanu announced previously that the new platform will feature WSOP rewards and tournaments.
Players of WSOP.ca will have access to quality gaming options including the popular Rush & Cash and Flip & Go events. Online Circuit events for WSOP will also be on offer. This gives players in Ontario a chance to win gold hardware that is coveted worldwide.
Migration Questions
Because the WSOP.ca room will be the new spot for GGPoker members in Ontario, a Frequently Asked Question page was launched by the online poker brand. Players of GGPoker will have their account automatically migrated to WSOP.ca. Cash, C$, T$, and ticket balances will be moved.
GGPoker says that players who move to the WSOP platform are eligible for the welcome bonus and can take advantage of the deal. Since September 19, players who are targeted for migration will be prompted in the GGPoker client. Players who will be migrated will see the popup after logging in.
GGPoker and Yggdrasil Deal
As GGPoker and WSOP get ready to offer online poker in Ontario, GGPoker has also been busy signing a new content deal with Yggdrasil. The two will work together to add casino games to the online poker platform.
