This weekend, the World Poker Tour (WPT) is set to begin the first-ever Online Poker Open— Main Tour Event. Powered by the partypoker US Network, players in New Jersey will be able to take part in an exclusive event featuring a $1 million prize pool. The buy-in to the event is $3,500 and players can compete via Borgata Poker, partypoker NJ, and BetMGM Poker.
Details of the Event
Players must be physically located in New Jersey to take part. The event starts on December 27 and will end on December 30. The online poker event kicks off at 5:00 ET and has a buy-in of $3,200 and a $300 fee. Players will compete down to the final table which will take place on the last day, the 30th.
While the event starts on Sunday, there is still time to take part in qualifiers. The entire partypoker US network is currently running several qualifiers and satellite options at varying price points. Four times a day, sites are offering $5 qualifiers for the $45 qualifier. The $45 qualifier can be bought into directly and provides winners access to a $400 satellite.
Those who compete in the $400 satellite, via buy-in or qualifier, will be playing for a seat to the Main Event.
Additional Tournament Options
Along with the Main Event, there are also additional tournaments on the WPT schedule. Players can compete on Monday in Phase 1 into Event #4 which is Phase 2 of the $40K guaranteed 8-max NLH event. This event has a total buy-in of $25.
Also on Monday is Event #2, the $20,000 guaranteed 8-Max NLH event. This tournament has a buy-in of $215. On Tuesday, the WPT is hosting event #3, the $30,000 guaranteed 8-Max NLH event. The buy-in of this event is much higher at $535.
Side event winners of the WPT will earn a unique prize of Baccarat Crystal Beluga Highball glasses. The Main Event winner will win a Hublot Big Bang E Titanium timepiece. The watch has a value of $5,200.
The Main Event is an official WPT Main Tour event, so the winner will also earn entry into the WPT Tournament of Champions. This player will also earn points for the Hublot WPT Player of the Ye
