The February sports betting reports are in for Indiana, and the top sport for the month was basketball. With more than $187 million bets placed, over $90 million resulted from basketball wagers. The month was a success as players were betting more than in January, pushing the revenue totals to over $11 million and more than $1 million paid in taxes to the state.
Monthly Big Earners:
For February it was DraftKings and FanDuel that brought the most action. Ameristar came out on top with their DraftKings offering, producing just over $79.9 million in bets. More than $74 million of that amount was generated online. The brand brought in just over $6 million in revenues.
For Blue Chip and partner FanDuel, they earned a little less with $65.9 million in betting handle and $2.06 million in revenues. Around $63.8 million of those bets were placed online.
Online betting is the method of choice for sports fans with February seeing close to $146 million in bets placed via the internet. Amazingly, FanDuel and DraftKings account for close to 95% of the total sports bets placed in the state.
Other operators are having a hard time gaining any ground against the two heavyweights. Many are posting the same numbers instead of seeing an increase in wagers or bets placed.

BetMGM launched in February, and is the new kid on the block in the industry. They earned only $70,000 in bets but they launched on the 25th, so they were only operational for a few short days.
The operator launched sports betting services in the state thanks to a partnership with Boyd’s Belterra casino. They were provided a temporary license in January and the official go-ahead to launch in February.

The Horseshoe Hammond saw over $12 million in bets placed last month, which is the most for a land-based provider in the state. They earned just over $1 million in revenues from the wagers.
