On December 10, 888poker launched its XL Winter Series. The festival will continue through December 20, offering players plenty of online poker action. There are several events on the schedule with more than $1 million total guaranteed prize money! Buy-ins range from $5 to $50 for most events, making the series affordable for every player.
Already, several events have finished up, as there are several tournaments taking place each day of the series. Check out a few of the events and winners below!
8-Max Event
Event #7 of the series just finished up, one of the largest tournaments on the schedule. This $30,000 8-Max event had a buy-in of $109 and saw 340 entries. The number of players in the event created a prize pool of $34,000, a total of $4,000 over the guarantee. In the end, it was online player maestro1908 who earned the first-place win after almost nine hours of play.
Maestro1908 defeated moderator88 in heads-up play. First-place earned a $6,630 prize while second place took home $4,930.
Mini 8-Max
Event #8 was a Mini 8-Max online poker event, featuring $10,000 in prize money. With a low $12 buy-in, more players took part in this mini version than Event #7. With 899 players competing, it would take a while before a winner was named.
With over 8 ½ hours of gaming, it would be Djolex91 who claimed the win, earning $1,870. Djolex91 defeated _aspid_ in heads-up play to finish in first. For second place, _aspid_ earned $1,350.
Series Continues
The XL Winter Series continues today with three events. Players can take part in #14, #15 and #16. The first will offer $20,000 in total prize money with a buy-in of $33, as an R&A event. Tournament #15 is a #10,000 Mini R&A with a low $5.50 buy-in. Pay a little more at $12 to take part in the Late R&A, also offering $10,000 in total prize money.
